Week 3 (now that it’s July 30, 2008; week 6)

OK. It’s catch-up week and I have lots of catching up to do. I have had two short vacations and am massively behind. But, I finally made it through the entire Flickr lesson. On to RSS!

#5 a. Flickr CBQ 11-3-07

CBQ 11-3-07

Originally uploaded by trumpet37

I didn’t remember to take my camera to work, and so I uploaded yet another brass quintet photo to Flickr and set up a link to this blog.

I do feel unsure of what I am exposing myself to with the accounts I’ve had to set up to do this assignment. Yahoo kept sending me to a warning page about Phishing that’s happening on Flickr.

I’ll try to do my library photo next week.

Week 3 #5 Flickr

What I am discovering is that blogs and the things connected to blogs are fleeting. With a website, you have the files that were created on your computer and you probably have a backup to your computer files. But the blog can be gone in a second and the items you link to can be gone tomorrow.

I liked this photo on Flickr of the Brador Brass quintet.

I like the colors, symmetry, and the interesting angles.

Week 2 continued

I can’t seem to stop fooling around with this site. I’ve changed the theme many times and also changed the header photo. Now the header is one of my favorite places: Source Lake in Algonquin Park, Canada.

I haven’t been able to save the header photo any place, so I have to upload and crop it every time. With some of the preset themes the header photo didn’t cover all of the default header.

Week 2 #3 My first blog

I had a blog up here that said “this is my first blog EVER!” but, I accidentally deleted it. :-[

So, this is a copy of my first blog ever. The header photo was taken on Great Averill Lake.

I have uploaded my photo a couple of times to WordPress, but it must take some time to appear.

Week 1 #2 Lifelong Learning

It was good to see that the things I do are signs of a lifelong learner–like taking on this new project. At the same time, the constant curiosity and wish to learn new things can distract from getting jobs done.

The hardest part for me is the Learning Contract. I tend to take on way too many things without planning for how to make the time for it.  I have now promised myself that I will give up one bad habit (I’m not telling you what it is) in order to make the time to log into 23 things.  :-)
